It is easy for a relationship to slip into a pattern of deception and manipulation when initial promises were based on desire, status, or materialistic gain. Most will leave this relationship unfulfilled.

Seeking a relationship with our higher power will squelch the need for superficial validation, and it opens up our true relationship with God from the deepest part of our being. This cannot be replaced or replicated in the material world.
